The Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT) Zaria has flagged off a training programme on Road Traffic Management System And Administration for 2,107 staff of Kaduna State Traffic Law Enforcement Authority (KASTLEA).

The course, which is planned to run for 10 days in batches has senior management and junior cadres staff of KASTLEA as participants.

During the flag off ceremony in Kaduna recently, the Director General/Chief Executive of NITT, Dr. Bayero Salih Farah, represented by the Registrar of NITT, Mallam Bello Sule, said that he was happy that the Kaduna State Government was leading the way in identifying with NITT services. “This is a long time coming. Let me, therefore, use this time to call on other transport and logistics companies in the State to turn to us to meet their transport training needs, he added.

Dr. Farah, described the development as a rare feat, considering that the Institute had been trying to penetrate the transport and logistics market in the State for decades with little or no response.

He specifically thanked Governor Nasir El-Rufai for the development and assured that NITT would deploy most of its finest resource persons to man the delivery of the course.

The Honourable Commissioner of Kaduna State Ministry of Public Works and Construction, Haji Balarabe Aliu-Inuwa, who also graced the occasion, thanked Governor Nasir El-Rufai for “giving us the support we always need to ensure that the Corp has everything it needs to function at exemplary levels.”

She also thanked the NITT Management, noting that “this beautiful collaboration that has worked out so well” would ultimately inculcate in KASTLEA Staff the values they need to enable them serve Kaduna State better. “This gathering has enabled me to meet the entire Senior Cadre  Staff of KASTLEA for the first time”, she added.

Hajia Balarabe Aliu-Inuwa also stressed the imperative of capacity building, noting that “it will allow us to grow from strength to strength” and help us attain our vision with precision. “We will come calling again. We are Oliver Twist”, she added.

Head of NITT Training Department, Mallam Umar Ahmad Ibrahim said that all that was needed make delivery of the training programme a success had been worked out methodically for implementation and thanked Kaduna State Government for approving the offer.
