The Nigerian Artisans and Technicians Conference (NATCO) has been scheduled to hold November 26. It is aimed at bringing all technicians and artisans together with different local content manufacturers, thereby creating an avenue for direct interaction with local manufacturers which will gear up patronage for locally made products in Nigeria.
The NATCO project is organised by Global Sight Limited and in Lagos in Collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Industry Trade & Investment, Small Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) and different associations.
The Managing Director, Global Sight Services Limited, Mr. Dayo Bello; said, “we found out that there are so many challenges facing each and everyone of the artisans and technicians”.
“Also Looking at what government can do for the artisans/technicians, we also found out that there is a big gap between the Artisans/Technicians, Manufacturers and the government. The government has so much to do for the Artisans and the manufacturers also need the artisans to push their market. All these gave birth to National Artisans & Technicians Conference (NATCO) and Exhibition.
“There is no law regulating the activities of the artisans and technicians, and that is one of the major areas NATCO will touch because the government needs to do something in this area, which will help create standards to par with the international best practices.
“We are in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade & Investment, Small & Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) and National Automotive Design and Development Commission (NADDC). Others are: CAC, CPC, Bank of Industry (BoI), DBN, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), ITF, SON, CBN, NAFFDAC, FIRS and many others. In the private sector, we are in partnership with the Nigerian Breweries (NB), NEM Insurance, Airtel Nigeria and others”.
NATCO event will hold on 26th of November 2019, at the National Arts Theatre, Iganmu Lagos, with over 20,000 Technicians & Artisans Delegates and over 50,000 visitors expected.
