In recognition of his contribution to aviation business in Nigeria, Mr. Chris Agabi, a Senior Business Journalist with the Daily Trust has been named among the elite league of the100 Aviation Business Leaders in Nigeria 2020.
The award was conferred on him alongside captains of aviation industry, aviation professionals, seasoned journalists and other operators in the aviation and travel industry.
The award was from the stable of African Travel Quarterly (ATQ), an influential aviation and tourism magazine in Africa. The award was conferred on the recipients at the Cargo and Export expo and exhibition held recently at the Marriott Hotel, Lagos.
The founder of the award and the publisher of ATQNews (Online), Travellers Magazine (the first travel magazine in West Africa) and the organiser Akwaaba African Travel Market, the first travel market in West Africa, Mr. Ikechi Uko said the award celebrates individuals and corporates who have impacted aviation growth in Nigeria.
He said the awardees were carefully selected based on track record and proven integrity adding that it is an annual award that will celebrate those making an impact in the Nigerian aviation space.
Chris Agabi is a Senior Business Journalist for close to 15 years with strong niche in Aviation, transportation and Economy/Finance reporting.
He works at an Abuja based national daily, the Daily Trust Newspaper. Mr, Agabi is currently based in Abuja the political capital of Nigeria but has previously worked in Lagos, Nigeria’s business and commercial capital.
Mr. Agabi has other awards to his credit. He is well traveled locally and internationally. He is interested in seasoned journalists, trained locally and abroad. He has attended several aviation events, conferences, and exhibitions.
He is a trained mass communicator and has training in public relations and advertising.
He is both alumni of the University of Maiduguri, Borno State, and the University of Abuja, FCT.
He is also a Bloomberg Scholar, a Lagos Business School and the Press Association, London Alumnus, among others. He’s the Chairman of, Abuja Transportation and Aviation Correspondents Association.
Commenting, Mr. Chris Agabi thanked the organizers for recognizing the invaluable contribution of journalists to the growth of the aviation and travel industry in Nigeria.
He said the award will spur him to do more to journalism growth in Nigeria.
