Ahead of the forth-coming 8th Annual Maritime Students And Youth Conference (AMSAY), the Continental Vice President, Women In Maritime Africa (WIMA) Chief Carolyn Akum Ufere has offered to gift the sum of Fifty Thousand Naira as Cash Prize to the Winner of Best Graduating Maritime Students Award (BEGMASA) for “Maritime Security and Safety Management” course.
Chief Ufere made her intention known over the weekend in a message sent to the Convener of the yearly industry Conference and Managing Director of Platforms Communications, Mr Sylvanus Obasi.
By sponsoring the cash prize for the Award, it means the award will be instituted in her name and honour as: “Chief Carolyn Akum Ufere’s Award of Academic Excellence For Best Graduating Maritime Security & Safety Management Student”.
The conference is scheduled to hold on May 27, 2024.
Responding, Mr Obasi thanked Chief Carolyn Akum Ufere for her remarkable support, especially for reaching out and offering to do this on her own volition without the organisers writing her a formal request letter about it.
