Motorists and patrons of petroleum products have been advised to desist from panic buying assuring Nigerians of a stable petroleum supply despite recent market uncertainties.

The Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) gave this assurance while commending the Federal Government and the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) for successfully operating the revamped Port Harcourt Refinery continuously for 180 days.

PETROAN commended the company responsible for the revamp of the Port Harcourt refinery, Tecnimont Nigeria, for its professionalism and technical expertise.

Commissioned in October 2024, the refinery has been in operation non-stop for six months, a milestone PETROAN describes as a testament to the effectiveness of the rehabilitation efforts.

PETROAN noted that its members were loading Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) and Dual-Purpose Kerosene (DPK) from the refinery, while NNPCL retail marketers were loading Premium Motor Spirit (PMS).

“PETROAN wishes to extend special commendation to the Managing Director of Port Harcourt Refining Company (PHRC), which operates the Port Harcourt refinery, Ibrahim Onoja, for his exceptional leadership, technical expertise and dedication to ensuring the successful rehabilitation and operation of the refinery,’ the association stated.
