The Oyo State Government have prosecuted six park officials, including a secondary school leaver for various offences.
Part of their offences are printing and issuing of forged receipts of Park Management System and over-billing of motorists in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
This disclosure was made on Wednesday by the Chairman, Disciplinary Committee of the Oyo State Park Management System, Alhaji Mukaila Lamidi (Auxillary), during an interview with journalists in Ibadan.
Lamidi said against the notions in some quarters that the disciplinary committee was not proactive in sanctioning offenders; six officials of the PMS were being prosecuted.
He said a 19-year-old boy, who was arrested for issuing forged tickets to motorists, was also being cross-examined after being arrested by the transporters’ task force.
He noted that the park managers’ system had helped in stamping out violence in the transport sector in Oyo State, adding that the era of brigandage and bloodletting is now history in the state.

Lamidi said, “People of Oyo State, especially residents of Ibadan, will agree with me that the Park Management System has totally eradicated violence in the state. Everybody now can do their businesses or travel in the state without the fear of outburst of violence.
“It is a system that could be adopted by succeeding government. Osun and Ondo states are in the process of adopting the system.
“On the notion that there is revenue loss to illegal collectors as well as sharp practices by officials of the Park Management System, I want to assure the general public that the disciplinary committee is in control. We have arrested six individuals, including a young secondary school leaver caught perpetrating sharp practices and they are presently facing the law.
“We are not giving room for revenue loss to illegal activities by park managers and those working with them. We are running a water-tight system that is closely monitored.”
