The Chairman of Globe Motors, Mr. Willie Anumudu, is dead.
He reportedly died this morning at the age of 68, in Lagos after taking ill.

Meanwhile, the management of Globe Motors has officially confirmed the demise of its Chairman.
In a Press Statement made available to Transport Day, and signed by the Managing Director, Mr. Victor Oguamalam, it stated that ‘’The Management and Staff of Globe Motors regrettably announce the untimely death of our Founder and Chairman, William Anumudu. This occurred subsequent to complications arising from a protracted illness. Further statements and all related arrangements will be as announced by the family.’’
In a related development, the Nigeria Auto Journalists Association (NAJA) has expressed shock over the demise of the business mogul.
A statement sent to Transport Day stated that “The Nigeria Auto Journalists Association has received with shock, the news of the death of William Anumudu, Chairman/CEO of Globe Motors Holdings Limited, one of the biggest automobile franchise owners…”.
Chairman, Nigeria Auto Journalists Association (NAJA), Mike Ochonma, said the death of William Anumudu is a big shock and loss not only to the local and foreign automotive community where he has made tremendous impact in the past 30 years, but also to Nigeria at large.
The billionaire businessman was reported ill and tested negative to COVID-19 and was to be flown to Germany before his death. Aged 68, he hailed from Mbaitoli near Owerri, the Imo State capital and married to Nkiru Anumudu. Both of them have four children, Uzoma, Enyinna, Zinna and Zikky.
