Leading logistics company in Nigeria, Oritsetimeyin Logistics Limited which is into dry haulage and warehousing, has acquired 10 Volkswagen trucks from Leventis Motors in order to boost its fleet.
Speaking to Transport Day Newspaper at the handover ceremony in Apapa Lagos, the Assistant General Manager, Oritsetimeyin Logistics Ltd, Pius Okonkwo, described the trucks as durable and rugged for Nigerian roads.
He said that the company has more than 260 units of VW trucks and that if the trust was not there, it will not be coming for more.
He said that, since Oritsetimeyin Logistics Limited is into dry haulage for now, “most companies where we use these trucks have testified the strong use of the truck, companies like Nestle, Procktar & Gamble, Coca cola, PZ, Unilever, NBC, Africa Fertilizer and many more to mention a few”.
He said “It is not all about acquiring the trucks, but it is all about the handling, and I can assure you that we have the best hands in the area of drivers who can handle these trucks and their welfare is greatly taken care of by our safety department because without it you will not witness a good return.
“We also hold training and retraining sessions for our drivers and as a matter of fact, we normally invite FRSC, VIS and some medical personnel who also take them on pep talks every  two weeks”, Okonkwo explained.
The Assistant GM, Oritsetimeyin Logistics, confirmed that they are in a very good and cordial relationship with Leventis Motors and “so far we have not had any challenges since we came into the relationship with them”.
Confirming the official hand over of the trucks, the Acting Head of Volkswagen, AG LEVENTIS, Mr. Charles Awani, said that the official handover was done by the Vice Chairman; AG LEVENTIS, Michael Economakis and the Vice President, VW Trucks & Buses Brazil; Forgioni Marcos.
He described Oritsetimeyin Logistics as not just a customer but a business partner stating that “if they succeed, we have equally succeeded and if they fail that means we have equally failed and that the beauty of the whole thing is to see the trucks moving on the roads”.
Awani, said that “VW trucks will give you returns of what you acquired it for, and a two years warranty with one of the best after sales services in the country”.
