The Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure in Ogun, Ade Akinsanya, disclosed this after inspecting some ongoing road and flyover projects in Abeokuta, the state capital on Wednesday.

Amosun, who begun the projects while he was Governor of the state, had said his administration had paid all the contractors their full money.

But after his exit, the contractors abandoned the projects, claiming that they were not paid the full money.

Akinsanya said the Governor’s action was in the fulfilment of his social contract with the people of the state to complete the various abandoned projects of the past administration.

“Many of these projects were awarded since 2012 and 2013.”

The Project Manager for the China Civil Engineering Construction Company, Sewell Zhao, said the release of the funds was timely.
