The Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT), Zaria, and National Centre for Technology Management (NACETEM) have expedited action towards operationalising the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This effort came on the heels of the visit of NACETEM Management to NITT to explore possible areas of partnership.

Speaking at the event, the Director General/Chief Executive of NITT, Dr. Bayero Salih Farah, observed that the relationship between NACETEM and NITT dated back over a decade. “We trace back the relationship between NITT and NACETEM several years back”, he noted, adding that “signing of the MoU was the climax of the relationship.”

Dr. Farah also expressed optimism about the MoU given the conscientiousness and commitment of both parties. “We appreciate your commitment and we are going to show equal level of commitment to ensure that we derive the benefit of the MoU”, he noted.

The Overseeing Director General of NACETEM, Dr. Omimakinde John Akintayo, who acknowledged the serene and conducive environment at NITT, expressed his organisation’s commitment to realising the objectives of the MoU. “When we signed the MoU, our interest is to make it work”, he stated.

Dr. Akintayo enumerated some of the key areas of synergy categorized under Joint local and international training programmes, workshops and research.

The Technical Committees from the collaborating organisations agreed to critically scutinise proposals from both parties with a view to harmonising them for immediate implementation.
