A frontline and experienced transport stakeholder, Alhaji Inuwa Abdullahi, has been inaugurated aa the new Chairman of the Metropolitan Section of the Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO).

Others alao inaugurated include Alhaji Raji Yunusa Abiodun as the 1st Deputy chairman; Mohammed Gujja Ebet, 2nd Deputy chairman; Mr Victor Nnotum, secretary; Mr Jacob Onoja, Assistant Secretary; Alhaji Abdulrasheed Ibrahim, Vice Chairman, Up country; and Mr Afolabi Afolayan, Vice Chairman on Export Port Operation.

Also on the list are Sadisu Mustapha, Vice Chairman Import; Mohammed Gujibau Talba, Vice Chairman, Containerized Up Country; Yusuf A. Mohammed, Vice chairman Up Country Port Operations; Sulaiman Ismail B – Treasurer; Samuel Adole, Financial Secretary; and Abdullahi Sulaiman, Assistant Financial Secretary.

The position of Head of Operations went to Friday Paul; Kamal Bakare Abubakar, Organizing Secretary; Garba Umar Abubakar, PRO; Muhammad Lawan Danjuma, Auditor; Alhaji Babayo Haruna, Welfare; and Atom Jubrin Tom, Chief Whip.

The Inuwa led elected officials promised to bring in their wealth of experience towards resolving challenges around haulage.

In his acceptance speech, Inuwa said the purpose of the unit was to make sure that the operations of members of the association are without hitches.

He said the metropolitan unit was created to cater for the interest of non-indigenous transporters doing business in the state and it’s environs.

He noted that ”As you all know, NARTO Metropolitan Unit is like a first son of a family. That is to say the NARTO Metropolitan Unit is as old as the association itself based on the strategic position of the state where transporters from all over the country can be found, is the reason NARTO Metropolitan is created to cater for the interest of non-indigenous transporters doing businesses in the state, its environs and the unit is directly under NARTO national secretariat.

Immediate past chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Sani called on the new executives to contribute their quota to promote the interest of NARTO.
