The Motor Mechanics and Technicians Association of Nigeria (MOMTAN), will on Thursday, 12th December 2019, hold her maiden edition of ‘2019 MOMTAN Symposium and Exhibition.
The association reasoned that the symposium is necessitated by the incidences of massive influx of substandard spare parts and lubricants in the local supply chains in the Nigerian auto industry, which has is now at an alarming rate.
In a press statement, the Chairman, MotorMechs and Technicians Association of Nigeria (MOMTAN), Alhaji Morufu Arolowo, said that this year’s seminar is tagged “Reducing Road Accidents and Breakdowns in Nigeria by Guiding Against Substandard Spare Parts and Lubricants”.
According to him, “in the auto industry today, usage of substandard spare parts and lubricants need to be eliminated before the end of the year 2020. We foresee possible reduction in road accidents and avert things that could lead to it.”
The seminar which will be holding at NECA House, by Jobi Fele Way, Ikeja Lagos, will feature discussions from all relevant transport and automobile stakeholders in proffering solutions to the termination of substandard spare parts and lubricants in Nigeria.
The chairman added that “our main objective for this seminar is to make auto technicians become more credible, reliable and reputable through the use of genuine auto products to complement our professional skills.
Those expected in attendance are: The Lagos State Governor, His Excellency Babajide Sanwo Olu; Commissioner for Transportation Lagos state, Corps Marshal of FRSC, VIS, SON, Consumer Protection Council, RTEAN, NURTW, NADDC, LUPAN, ASPAMDA, Fleet Operators, Auto product Manufacturers, Health Care International and Vehicle Owners, etc.
