Permanent Secretary, MNDA, Engr. Olufunsho Adebiyi giving is opening remarks

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs (MNDA), Engr. Olufunsho Olusesan Adebiyi FNSE, has urged staff of the Ministry to put more efforts towards enhancing productivity in the development of the Civil Service and the nation at large. This was contained in a statement made available to Transport Day in Abuja. The Parmenent Secretary who made this statement on the occasion of the Service Award Ceremony to honour sixteen (16) deserving staff of MNDA who had, and who will continue to distinguished themselves in their field of endeavours, held in Abuja.
Adebiyi assured the staff that the programme would not only be the form of recognition and award for staff of the Ministry who distinguished themselves in their line of service, adding that the recipients should do more to earn and learn in the ceremony.
According to him, the Ministry would continue to recognize the efforts of deserving staff who has distinguished themselves in their various assignments, as evident in the establishment of a mechanism that would continue to actualize the Annual Service Award Programme of the Ministry.
The Permanent Secretary charged every member of staff to continue to develop their capacity, noting that the present generation of the Civil Service is being- driven by technology in service delivery. While promising to organize capacity-building programmes in conjunction with the Directors to improve staff ability in handling job related issues, he urged personnels of the Ministry to be discreet in handling official matters in line with Civil Service Rules.
Earlier in his welcome address, Director, Human Resources Management (HRM), MNDA, Mr. Musa Jafar said that these men and women who have distinguished themselves in their line of duties are worthy of commendation, and that the reward would further enhance their effort towards increase in productivity.
Jafar implored that the reward system should be sustained by the management and the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (OHCF), to encouraged other staff to work harder and be appreciated accordingly.
Responding on behalf of the 16 recipients of the award, an Assistant Director, MNDA, Mrs. Ifeka Edit Chioma thanked God for making the day possible and also appreciated the Management for counting the recipients worthy of commendation.
Highpoint of the ceremony was the presentation of plaque to the awardees which include; Mr. Alfred Abah, Mrs. Ifeka Edith Chioma, Oji Chukwu Inyima, Arc. Ajayi Owolabi, Mfon Sambo, Yusuf Esther, Abiye Harry, Edet Bassey, Oparinu Oluwagbemiga, Engr. Uzoka Douglas, Nonye Florence Ifeoma, Saleh Isyaku, Nwagbara Faith Okagwa, Umoren Grace Okon, Etim Effiong Etim and Opia Ofem Ruth. In addition, one of the 16 recipients emerged as the winner after balloting of a token made available by the PS.
