It is time for celebrating a partnership and significant milestone as MITIMETH launches their office at the Lagos State Inland Waterways Authority (LASWA) yard showcasing Water Hyacinth product creations and also a Production Hub (Demonstration Centre).

This partnership with LASWA started in 2016, and it is built around the common goal of transforming water hyacinth into beneficial use of handcrafted products which has taken place in different Zones in the State namely Epe, Badagry, Ikorodu and Lagos Island thereby empowering over 300 youths and women in the upcycling of Water Hyacinth.

“It is a partnership that is clearly aligned with the Global Goals, specifically SDG 17 – Strategic Partnerships. We would like to say a big thank you to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu, the Honorable Commissioner, Ministry of Transportation Dr Fredric Oladiende and the General Manager LASWA, Mr Oluwadamilola Emmanuel and his team for bringing this vision to reality. We strongly believe that circular economy innovations will be birthed right here as a result of this public-private partnership between LASWA and MITIMETH,” says Achenyo Idachaba-Obaro, of Mitimeth.
