It is the second time the Nigerian Super Eagles will travel by sea since 1949. The team traveled by sea to England on a playing tour.

The team was ferried last Friday by the Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) from the Five Cowries Terminal in Falomo Ikoyi via the Lagos inland waterways to Port Novo, Benin Republic.

The players expressed delight and satisfaction at water transport choice as it affords them a great deal of convenience, comfort, and hospitality ahead of their game.

Their waterways enjoyment was evident with the late strike from Paul Onuachu, which earned Nigeria bragging rights over the Benin Republic as Super Eagles defeated Squirrels 1-0

The Victory implies that the Eagles ended Benin’s eight-year unbeaten home record, dating back to 2013.

The Super Eagles, for their various matches, either traveled by Road or by Air, but this time they had to go through the Ocean for the Water to wash them clean to Victory.

Eight years down the lane, the Benoinise never lost any game to Super Eagles, but with waterways, the tides changed in Favor of the Nigerian team.

Meanwhile, the Super Eagles’ choice of a safe water transport offered by the Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) aided their Victory.

Available video clips and online images of the players having fun while on the waterways attest to the level of flexibility, hospitality, and comfortability derived from the Boat Cruise.
