He remarked that the nation’s airports are currentlya shambolic eyesore with clutters being erected all over without plans.

Sirika made the disclosure while reacting to request for lands for development that have been applied for at a stakeholders meeting.

A stakeholder and former parliamentarian Senator Musa Adede had pointed out that land by the airport authority was very expensive and would drive away would-be investors willing to grow and develop the airport.

The Senator emphasised that over the world, land was made available for development of aviation at affordable cost.

The Minister however in response stated that everything with regards land allocation was on hold.

” There would not be any land allocation for now until we complete the master plan of the airport.

The airports are uncoordinated, disjointed and distorted. Take Murtala Muhammed Lagos for instance, there is no plan whatsoever.

“We have engaged a consultant; he will be planning all the MROs and all the airport aspects returning it to the master plan.

For now, Land projects without approval will stand down for now. Until we have the master plan layout, we will not continue to allow clutters around our airports,” Sirika said.
