The opening ceremony of the 14th Lagos Motor Fair and 8th Autoparts Expo holds today at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos. The event is slated for  May 6-11, 2019.  According to the organisers, over 50 reputable and major players in the global automotive industry will be showcasing the best and latest from their stables.
Disclosing this during a media briefing, Mr. Ifeanyichukwu Agwu-Chairman of the Organising Committee of the Fair that the event which is organized by BKG Exhibitions Limited of Nigeria, SENEXPO International Fairs Inc of Istanbul, Turkey and China Auto Modification Accessories Association [CAMAA]-Genertec of China is recording such turnout in these challenging times underscores the seriousness of stakeholders to keep the sector running.
Mr. Agwu, who is also the Managing Director of BKG Exhibitions Limited, noted that the presence of these giants will go a long way in reinforcing the aims and objectives of the show which is fast tracking the development of the automotive sector of in Nigeria. Their coming at this time shows seriousness and resilience on their part.  “’The theme of this edition is: New Contacts; New Opportunities’, which is informed by the enormous offers available in this unique key industry event. The challenges confronting the sector currently, notwithstanding we shifted to new approach of educating the people and government in developing new options and approaches for creating and harnessing new abundant opportunities in the sector through the event. The emphasis is on keeping the sector alive”.
According the head of the organizing committee, Lagos Motor Fair remains the unparalleled gathering of established brands as well as new entrants, ranging from passenger busses, cars, trucks, spare parts, accessories, lubricants, financials and many more; adding that the importance of continuously staging the show cannot be over-emphasized as all hands must be on deck to promote and support investments into the sector, as it occupies a strategic position in enhancing the economic development of Nigeria”
Continuing Mr. Agwu revealed, “As part of our efforts in promoting investment into the automotive sector, all strategies have been deployed to ensure that the fair more than ever before receives the needed attention from participants, institutional, trade, professional and individual buyers as well as visitors. We have packaged a show that could effectively be used by the participants and visitors to maximize the benefits derivable from the fair. This edition will bring out all the potentials and investment opportunities that abound in the Nigerian automobile industry, which we know are very attractive so that the existing and potential stakeholders will utilise the opportunities offered by Lagos Motor Fair to get the best”.
The entire days of the Fair have been laced with lots of crowd pulling fun and side attractions. Visitors, Exhibitors and the general public that would be at the fair will experience a bumper of fun-filled days at the fair arena; adding that this will be a landmark and a benchmark in auto show business in sub-Saharan Africa’. Each of the nine days that the fair will last is loaded with activities and events that will make this edition remarkably different and we intend to improve and add on this in subsequent editions, Mr. Agwu, revealed further.
“It’s going to be a bumper harvest for the expected over 50,000 visitors their socio-economic status notwithstanding; every visitor would gain one thing or the other at the fair as we have ensured that almost the interests of all segments of the society are adequately catered for at the fair”.
