In order to boost safe motoring in Lagos, the State Government has presented two new patrol vehicles to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to enhance its operational activities.

The vehicles donated through the State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), were recently handed over to the representatives of the Sector Commander FRSC Lagos Sector Command, Corps Commander Olusegun Ogungbemide at the State House, Alausa, Ikeja.

This is according to a press statement signed by Route Commander Olabisi Sonusi FRSC Sector Public Education Officer.

Presenting the vehicles on behalf of Governor Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu who was represented by the Honorable Commissioner Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental relations, Engr Tayo Bamgbose-Martins and representative of Board of the fund, its Administrative Director, Mr Degbola Lewis, he stated that the vehicles were part of the promise made to the Command during Mr Governor’s assessment visit of the level of damage to operational equipments of Security agencies in the state after the EndSars protest.

He also noted that the state government appreciates the strides of the Corps in traffic control and enforcement in the state adding that the feedback it has been getting from Lagosians on the assistance of the Corps has been very positive.

Receiving the vehicles branded in FRSC colour, the Deputy Corps Commander Operations, Cyril Mathew appreciated the Lagos State Government for the donations and assured judicious use of the vehicles in tackling traffic gridlock.
