Thirty Six recently promoted officers and marshals of the Gombe State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, otherwise known as RS 3.2 Gombe, were on Thursday decorated with their new ranks.
Those promoted included 15 officers and 21 marshals.
The Gombe Sector Commander of the FRSC- Dr Godwin Omiko, while addressing the newly promoted officers, said their promotion was in recognition of their hard work and a call for them to do more.
Omiko said, “In the FRSC, we don’t buy promotion from the market. We go through a computer-based test. It is either the computer serves to the candidate as a mirror or a tool. After this computer-based test comes the oral test and your success during the physical exercise also counts.”
He charged the newly promoted officers to consider their promotion as a call to perform better because each promotion comes with responsibility.
The commander added, “To whom much is given, much is expected.”
The Gombe State Governor- Inuwa Yahaya, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibrahim Njodi, congratulated the newly promoted officers, urging them to put in their best to justify the confidence reposed in them by the FRSC management.
Speaking on behalf of the newly promoted officers, Assistant Corps Commander, Kingsley Ekweghariri, said, “Never in the history of the organisation have we had a harvest of promoted staff in Rs 3.2 Gombe in particular as well as in the corps in general. By this singular act of magnanimity, our corps marshal has relieved millions of people, staff and non-staff alike from long-standing fear, worry, anxiety and depression. We advise he continues in this welfare package.”
