The Federal Government has approved 14 airports to restart flight operations after months of closure due to the lockdown occasioned by the coronavirus pandemic.

The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirka, made the disclosure, noting that the airports were authorised to resume domestic operations as the date for international flights was yet to be announced.

The airports are:

  1. Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos
  2. Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja
  3. Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano
  4. Port Harcourt International Airport, Omaguwa
  5. Sam Mbakwe Aiport, Owerri.
  6. Maiduguri Airport, Maiduguri
  7. Victor Attah Airport, Uyo
  8. Kaduna Airport, Kaduna
  9. Yola Airport, Yola
  10. Margaret Ekpo Airport, Calabar
  11. Sultan Abubakar Aiport, Sokoto
  12. Birnin Kebbi Airport, Kebbi
  13. Yakubu Gowon Aiport, Jos
  14. Benin Aiport, Benin.

β€œGlad to announce that the following airports are open for full domestic operations, hence ministerial approvals in and out of them is not required. This includes private and charter operations. We will keep you informed on the remainder airports in due course, please,” Sirika tweeted.
