The Federal Capital Territory Ministerial Task-team on Traffic Management has begun the clampdown on commercial motorcycle operators plying the AYA-Nyanya Expressway.
The Chairman of the team, Ikharo Attah, stated in a statement in Abuja, that the operation commenced on Monday.
According to him, any motorcycle impounded during the exercise will not be released to anyone.
Attah expressed worry that commercial motorcyclists often rode against the traffic and at very high speed, a development that had continued to endanger the lives of other road users.
He noted that some residents would choose to ride commercial motorcycles at a great financial cost and safety risk.
