The Flag Officer Commanding, Central Naval Command, Yenagoa, Rear Admiral Saidu Garba, gave the warning in an interview with newsmen on Tuesday shortly after the inauguration of residential housing projects for CNC personnel as part of activities to mark this year’s Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

Garba said the command was combat-ready to tackle any acts of economic sabotage and related attempts to undermine the unity of the country.

He said, “The Nigerian Navy and the military are poised to deal decisively with any persons who in any way undermine the unity of this country. Specifically, the destruction of oil and gas infrastructures is economic sabotage.

“I will advise that whoever is thinking of that should embrace jaw-jaw with the government and present their grievances. I’m sure the government will find a way to solve such problems. I want to assure you that we are ready to tackle any problem in line with our statutory responsibilities.”
