Popular Nigerian musician, Daddy Showkey, (real name- John Odafe Asiemo), has called out the Nigerian Railway Corporation for alleged lack of professionalism on its Warri-Itakpe route.
In a recent Facebook post, seen/viewed by Transport Day Media, the musician was watched entertaining the passengers when the train on that route was said to have stopped abruptly without any explanation to the passengers.
The Nigerian galala singer stated in his post that “I took a train ride from Warri going (to) Agenegbode, the experience was not so good but I made the passengers in the train Happy in my own little way, I have never experience this type of train ride before, the stop at Agbor for One full hour in a middle of nowhere without no information … about what was going or wrong with the train 🚆 Oh my God for not to let the people feel bored, I started thrilling and making them happy in my own little way”.

“Thank God you arrived early. There were days the train arrived past 10pm from Itakpe to Ujewvu all because of one fault or the other it developed along the road.
They’re overworking the train, no proper maintenance, and management.
The convenience isn’t functioning when pressed, you will have to hold on till they get to the next train station and you will pray they don’t leave you behind. God will help Nigeria.”

“I have travelled severally on that axis too and have meet many ‘unknown’ comedians who try very well to make people laugh and forget the worries that the deteriorating train services is causing commuters. It has become so bad that we had a five hour delay last December. Leaving ltapke by 7pm instead of 2:30pm and arriving warri 3am instead of 7:30pm. We had series of stops along the way in the middle of nowhere.
When will we get it right in this country?”
