President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the Ministry of Works and Housing to complete all road projects that are currently between 80 and 90 per cent completion.
The Minister of State for Works and Housing, Abubakar Aliyu, said this on Saturday during an inspection tour of the dualisation work of the Abuja–Abaji–Lokoja Road Section 1, which starts from the International Airport Link Road junction to Sheda village junction.
The Minister, in a statement, revealed that the President ordered the ministry to complete all ongoing road projects across the country.
He remarked that the Abuja–Abaji–Lokoja Road Section 1 project, being handled by Messrs Dantata and Sawoe, was over 96 per cent completed, adding that the President had mandated his ministry to ensure the delivery of all projects that were between 80 and 90 per cent completion.

“Hence, his (Aliyu) senior colleague in the ministry, Babatunde Fashola, and himself are not leaving anything to chance in order to help Mr President realise that dream,” the statement added.
This is as the Federal Government has pledged to complete 22 major roads between 2020 and 2021. This was revealed by the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola.
Fashola also stated that Nigeria is currently constructing a bridge to link the country with Cameroon.
The Minister who made all these disclosures in a live television programme in Abuja remarked that Nigeria has lost one year of construction due to the reduction of the national budget in 2017.
