The Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has revealed the current global economic recession will not hinder the cargo airport project of his administration in Ado Ekiti.

Fayemi stated although the project required huge financial commitment and well defined technical expertise, his administration would ensure its completion and inauguration before October 2022.

The Governor, who spoke during an inspection tour of ongoing projects of his government, said, “Our real legacy project is the establishment of ‘Agriculture Zone’ where agro-allied factories will be located to boost the state’s industrial development.

“I am confident that this project will be commissioned before I leave office. We are doing everything possible to ensure that we deliver it alongside other projects we are working on.”

The Governor inspected projects such as the Civic Centre; Oja Oba Market; Agbado-Ode Road; and Ilupeju-Ire-Igbemo-Ijan Road.

According to him, the Civic centre and the Oja Oba Market would be among legacy projects to be inaugurated in October to mark the second year of his second term in office.
