The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation has reassured stakeholders in Delta State and the Niger Delta that there are no plans to relocate the headquarters of its subsidiary, Nigerian Gas Company, from its present location in Delta State.
In a statement issued by its Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, Ndu Ughamadu, the corporation described as unfortunate statements credited to Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege.
The senator had reportedly condemned alleged moves by the NNPC to relocate the NGC headquarters from the Niger Delta region.
The state oil firm called on the NGC host communities and other stakeholders to disregard the relocation alarm which it described as false.
The NNPC stated that the Deputy President of the Senate might have either been misinformed or was quoted out of context as the subject of the relocation of the NGC was never on the table for deliberation by the corporation’s management.
