Members of the Aeronautical Information Management Association of Nigeria (AIMAN) have been advised to continue to display competence and professionalism in their duties in a bid to pave way for prompt licensing.
Immediate past president of AIMAN, Mr. William Ngerem, gave this charge during the hand-over ceremony to the newly elected executive members of AIMAN in Lagos.
He urged his successor, Dr Ibrahim Audu, to work with the management team of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), especially, the managing director in order to succeed.
Ngerem cautioned the new executives against petition writings rather than diplomacy, saying dialogue is the only way to progress in any organization.
On licensing of AIS personnel, Ngerem assured that there was still hope for their licensing, but urged them to internally certify themselves by displaying professionalism.
Meanwhile, the general manager, Aeronautical Information Service (AIS) Alhaji Kabiru Gusaube, has urged the members to be above board at all times in the discharge of their duties in order to continue to enhance safety.
According to him, the role and importance of AIMAN cannot be over emphasised in the aviation sector, adding that without AIS, it will be difficult for the aviation sector to function effectively.
He therefore urged members of the association to work together as a team in order to go far, adding that those doing great things were not super humans.
Responding after taking over, the new AIMAN president, Dr Ibrahim Audu, thanked all those that made his election possible and urged all hands to be on deck to ensure success
Audu who called for cooperation of members, promising a better welfare and tenure ahead for the association.
