Acting Comptroller General of Immigration Service, Mrs Caroline Wuraola Adepoju, has tasked officers to apply professionalism when discharging their duties.
She said: “I want my officers to imbibe discipline and ready to serve the people and the nation.
“My aim is to take the approaches as well as reactions attached to inter-agency relationship to the next level.
“One of the leading agencies in Nigeria is Murtala Muhammed International Airport. The service is determined to implement contemporary migration management in tandem with best global practices.
“This requires very robust inter-agency relationship. To achieve greater and better results while discharging our statutory duties, we must find unifying factors in our diversities. Delivering qualitative services through our institution to ensure a greater Nigeria is a collective responsibility.
“At this gateway, aside from discharging statutory duties, the collective responsibilities including ensuring safe, secure, seamless and regular migration without compromising national security. This can be achieved while creating that unforgettable one impression on our teeming international travellers.
“One impression at the gateway through attitudinal transformation toward a holistic positive change at the nation’s foremost gateway can be achieved by making people feel welcome and by being more hospitable.
“This is high time to extend hospitability beyond the walls of the service by taking inter-agency collaboration, cooperation and synergy to the highest level.
“We need to enjoin all relevant and critical stakeholders of this international entry point, across the public and private sectors within this gateway and beyond to embrace progressive perspective towards inter-agency relationship.
“Let us all renew our ideals with the strong resolution that creating one Impression at the gateway toward a greater Nigeria remains a collaborative and collective responsibility.”
