In order to improve mutual cooperation and knowledge sharing in transportation, the Intelligent Transport System (ITS), Nigeria, has visited its United Kingdom (UK) counterpart.

The Nigerian transport delegation was led by the Hon. Minister of State for Transportation, Prince Ademola Adegoroye, accompanied by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Transportation, Nigeria, Dr. Magdalene Ajani Nwawuche; the Director General/Chief Executive of Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT), Zaria, Dr. Bayero Salih Farah, Director, Transport Planning and Coordination, Federal Ministry of Transportation, Dr. Mercy Ilori, and Co-Founder ITS Nigeria & CEO Genyz Transport Solutions, Mr. Debo Shopade, amongst others.

The Nigerian delegation was received by Max Sugarman, ITS UK Chief Executive and his entourage.

ITS Nigeria’s delegation later visited a number of organisations in the UK, where workshops, round table discussions, and practical demonstrations held, accompanied by the host.

Places of interest toured, according to a Statement made available to Transport Day, included the Parliamentary Advisory Committee on Transport Safety (PACTS), Smart Mobility Living, and Intelligent Transport System Society facilities in the UK.

Supposedly, the visit offered the delegation a unique opportunity to “network, collaborate, and learn about the latest advancements and innovations in transport.”

It also hoped that the workshops, deliberations and practical demonstrations would translate into a better, safer and effective transportation back home.
