The Nigerian electricity workers under the aegis of the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) have suspended their indefinite industrial action for two weeks.

The suspension of the strike which the workers embarked upon on Wednesday after a prelude protest at the headquarters of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) on Tuesday came as the Minister of Labor and Employment, Chris Ngige brokered a truce after the whole country was thrown into total blackout.

The union embarked on the strike in protest of a directive by the TCN Board mandating all PMs in an acting capacity going to the Annual General Meeting to appear for a promotional interview.
