Deputy Corps Marshal (DCM) Dauda Biu is rightly positioned to be the next Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), as Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi, the current Corps Marshal bows out of service next week. He is scheduled to be pulled out on Monday July 25, 2022, after handing over same day.

DCM Biu who is the head of Finance and Accounts of the 34 years old agency, is currently the most senior Deputy Corps Marshal.

Going by FRSC structure, the management of the corps is made up of six DCMs who are picked from each of the geo-political zones of the country.

Oyeyemi Will Hand Over To Biu-FRSC Spokesman

In a chat with Transport Day today, FRSC spokesman, Assistant Corps Marshal Bisi Kazeem, stated that who Oyeyemi will hand over to is ultimately in the hands of President Muhammadu Buhari who is saddled with the responsibility of appointing Corps Marshal for the corps.

He nonetheless confirmed that if no announcement is made by the presidency before the handing over date, Oyeyemi will hand over to the most senior DCM, who is Dauda Biu pending a pronouncement from the presidency.

However, by the law establishing the FRSC (Decree No. 45 of the 1988 as amended by Decree 35 of 1992 referred to in the statute books as the FRSC Act cap 141 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria (LFN)), the President is at liberty to appoint the Corps Marshal from within the career officers or from outside.
