The Director General of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria, SMEDAN, Dr. Dikko Umaru Radda has commiserated  with the Government and people of Katsina State  over the recent fire Incident  that destroyed hundreds of shops at the central market  in the state capital and that of Jibia and Funtua market respectively.

The Director General expressed his deepest sympathy over the incident via his verified twitter account @dikko_Radda and called on the traders to accept the incident as an act of God. He said he was appalled to hear about the tragic fire outbreak that razed over hundreds of shops in Katsina Central market and that of Jibia and Funtua market, adding this is indeed a trying moment for the state.

Dr. Radda also noted with sadness that it was difficult to imagine the emotional toll of such loss to the entire state. “Our prayers are with the traders that have been affected by the incident”.

The SMEDAN boss however thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for his quick response by dispatching a high powered federal government delegation to the state to assess and commiserate with the government and victims of the fire incident with a view to providing assistance to the affected traders.

He equally commended the Katsina state governor Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari for displaying  strengths of character during the unfortunate incident, adding his rare  leadership qualities were evident during  the unfortunate incident. The Director General called on the people of Katsina state to sustain their prayers so as to avert such ugly incidents in future.
