State-owned Airline, Ibom Air has announced that it recorded a total of 4,410 flights for the year 2020.

This is according to its 2020 performance statistics released on the airline’s website on Tuesday.

According to the report, it recorded a total of 464, 427 and 393 flights for January, February and March.

For April, May and June, it showed zero activities due to the lockdown of the airspace by the Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19.

For July, August and September, it recorded 199, 424 and 545 flights respectively.

While in October, November and December, it recorded 576, 676 and 707 flights respectively.

It recorded the highest on-time departures in December with a record of 684 flights on time out of 706 total flights.

Twenty-two of its December flights departed later than 15 minutes after the scheduled time.

Eighteen of the 22 flights were delayed due to weather while the airline claimed responsibility for the remaining four.

The figures, according to the airline, represent 100 per cent schedule reliability and 97 per cent on-time performance while the remaining three per cent was for the delayed flights.

Ibom Air operates multiple daily flights from Uyo, Abuja, Calabar, Enugu and Lagos.
