The residents of Asero and Obantoko communities in Abeokuta, Ogun State, have commended the state government over the completion of the bypass road, stretching from Fajol to American Junction to Gbonagun Road.

The residents, comprising traders, motorists and road users, said the long bypass road had been neglected by previous governments in the state.

They noted that travelling on the bypass road, which cuts across two local government areas, Abeokuta South and Odeda, had been a nightmare for years.

The residents said the completion of the 7.2km road, an alternative route, had brought them great relief, as it would now reduce the gridlock daily experienced by motorists on the Abeokuta-Ibadan Road.
