Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State recently handed over 98 vehicles of several brands to security agencies in the state.

At the presentation ceremony held at the Government House, Sokoto, Tambuwal described the distribution of the vehicles as part of his administration’s support to the security agencies in the state.

He said, “Security is on the exclusive list of any government. Regardless of what we are facing, it is incumbent on us all to support the Federal Government in promoting security.”

The Governor urged the Federal Government to improve on the recruitment of more security agents and provide more equipment to combat criminals.

Tambuwal said, “About 25 Hilux vans is for the Nigerian Army; another forty Hilux van and 20 Golf 3 vehicles will go to the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps and the Department of State Security Services.”

Also speaking, the State Deputy Governor, Manir Dan’Iya, commended Governor Tambuwal for his efforts in keeping the state safe.

The AIG, Zone 10, Muhammed Mustapha, who spoke on behalf of the security, agencies described the gesture as a big motivation to the officers.
