The Minister of Environment, Mahmood Abubakar, has revealed that the Ministry in collaboration with the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority and the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria have outlined 125 aircraft and 13 airports across the country for decontamination and disinfection against the Coronavirus.
Speaking during a media briefing of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, in Abuja on Tuesday, he stated that the Ministry had started producing herbal-based hand sanitisers for the containment of the virus.
He added that the ministry had begun distribution of the product to communities and security personnel enforcing the lockdown directive.
The Minister also said the Ministry had deployed 7,000 environmental officers in the 774 Local Government Areas of the federation for awareness creation and advocacy on the virus.
